Maintenance Technician, Property Management - Philadelphia
Overview
You will own hands-on repairs and upkeep across a portfolio of 4,000 residential units and 250,000 square feet of commercial space in Philadelphia. Work alongside a tight-knit team of technicians and property managers, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. This role blends skilled trades, resident interaction, and daily variety, with clear paths to grow into senior or supervisory positions.
What You'll Do8
- 1Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance issues directly in resident units and common areas.
- 2Patch and paint walls, repair drywall, tile, carpet, and flooring to restore homes to move-in ready condition.
- 3Maintain service records and document all work orders in the company's system.
- 4Complete preventative maintenance on boilers, AC units, and other building systems to avoid breakdowns.
- 5Clear snow and ice from walkways, parking lots, and entrances during winter weather.
- 6Renovate apartments between tenants, including fixture replacement, cabinet installation, and trim work.
- 7Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- 8Respond to on-call emergency requests for after-hours and weekend coverage on a rotating basis.
Requirements8
- 13+ years in maintenance or building trades, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- 2Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, boilers, and appliance repair.
- 3Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, and comfort working on ladders at heights.
- 4A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between properties.
- 5Strong written and spoken English for clear communication with residents and team members.
- 6Willingness to work on-call, weekends, and non-traditional hours as needed.
- 7Priority given to those with EPA Section 608 Certification for refrigerant handling.
- 8High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade school completion is a plus.
