Technical Program Manager, Operations & Manufacturing at Tacit
Overview
python is the primary platform for hardware scaling from design to high volume manufacturing in a hands on TPM role at a deep tech hardware startup. You will own manufacturing readiness, assembly process definition, and factory test deployments across global CM/JDM partners and suppliers. You will collaborate with internal engineering, quality, supply chain, and factory teams to translate blueprints into scalable production systems through EVT to mass production. What makes this role unique is the end-to-end ownership from NPI through ramp and the emphasis on cost-effective, repeatable production infrastructure.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build the manufacturing ramp plan aligning factory readiness with product development timelines and launch dates
- 2Drive NPI builds (proto EVT DVT PVT) with contract manufacturers to ensure zero-defect transitions into mass production
- 3Scale line bring-up across global sites, optimize capacity, yields, and cycle times
- 4Create and enforce SOPs for mechanical assembly, testing, and station setups
- 5Deploy automated assembly and test infrastructure (ICT FCT EOL) and ensure calibration and fixtures are qualified
- 6Lead root-cause analysis and CAPA for line stoppages and test yield losses
- 7Coordinate supplier management and BOM health tracking to mitigate shortages and manage EOL transitions
- 8Model and optimize BOM costs, tooling NREs, scrap costs, and labor rates to improve unit economics
- 9Negotiate manufacturing allocations, fixture costs, and rebates with suppliers
- 10Provide clear, auditable process documentation and maintain safety and ESD compliance across lines
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering Supply Chain or related field
- 25+ years of experience in TPM Operations Engineering NPI Management or Manufacturing Engineering bringing hardware to scale
- 3Experience managing tier-1 Contract Manufacturers and overseas vendors through NPI to mass production
- 4Hands-on experience drafting validating and auditing shop-floor assembly test and repair SOPs
- 5Experience tracking multi-tier supply chains lead times inventory allocations and BOM costs
- 6Strong understanding of mechanical assembly PCBAs SMT automated test stations and QC systems
- 7Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25–35%
- 8Experience with DFM DFA principles line balancing and time-motion studies
- 9Proficiency with Agile Arena or similar PLM tools for BOM tracking and ECR/ECO execution
- 10Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus
