Technical Program Manager, Hardware & New Product Introduction
Overview
You will own the end-to-end program timeline for new connected hardware products at COSMO, from concept through manufacturing ramp and market launch. You will lead cross-functional execution across Engineering, Product, Marketing, Customer Support, and Operations, integrating milestones and driving clarity with global partners. Working closely with engineering and hardware program managers, you will align software, firmware, and manufacturing dependencies with the global plan. This role stands out for its direct impact on award-winning products like the JrTrack Smartwatch and its blend of technical depth with stakeholder leadership.
What You'll Do9
- 1Own the end-to-end program timeline for new product introductions, integrating engineering, manufacturing, and business readiness milestones from concept through launch.
- 2Drive cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Product, Marketing, Customer Support, Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure launch readiness and clear ownership.
- 3Define, track, and communicate major program milestones, readiness gates, and decision points, surfacing risks and dependencies early.
- 4Partner with the Engineering TPM to align software and firmware execution, release readiness, and engineering risks with program commitments.
- 5Partner with the China Hardware Program Lead to incorporate factory timelines, sample availability, certification milestones, and manufacturing risks into the global plan.
- 6Identify and manage cross-functional risks and tradeoffs, facilitating timely decisions across scope, timeline, cost, and quality.
- 7Ensure non-engineering teams have clear deliverables and timelines required to support a successful product launch.
- 8Drive structured communication and documentation to capture decisions, changes, and dependencies clearly.
- 9Participate in occasional after-hours coordination with global manufacturing and engineering partners during critical phases, including virtual calls with China-based teams around 9:00 p.m. EST during peak periods.
Requirements7
- 17+ years of technical program or program management experience in consumer hardware, software, or connected devices
- 2Proven experience leading cross-functional NPIs from planning through launch
- 3Strong understanding of hardware and software development lifecycles
- 4Experience coordinating globally distributed teams
- 5Comfortable working with Jira, Confluence, and program planning tools
- 6Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
- 7Preferred start up experience in a fast paced, ambiguous environment
