Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Automotive Systems & Facility Startups
Overview
Own end-to-end setup of manufacturing facilities in a high-volume Tier 1 automotive environment. Lead commissioning and process validation from ground up with strong industrial engineering foundations. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and suppliers to achieve tight schedules and margins. This role offers hands-on leadership in a rapid, quality-driven production context and distinguishes itself by driving factory readiness and scalable processes.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build and commission new manufacturing lines from ground up to achieve target throughput
- 2Design and validate processes, equipment layouts, and takt time to meet aggressive delivery schedules
- 3Lead cross-functional teams to achieve quality, cost, and schedule goals during ramp and early production
- 4Drive factory readiness activities including PFMEA, control plans, and line-side 5S improvements
- 5Partner with Tier 1 suppliers to ensure equipment integration, testing, and maintenance plans
- 6Scale production processes for repeatability and continuous improvement in a high-volume automotive environment
- 7Ship documentation for validation, validation testing, and capacity planning
Requirements6
- 1Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- 2Experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing environments, especially Tier 1 suppliers
- 3Proven track record in setting up and commissioning manufacturing facilities from the ground up
- 4Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- 5Ability to work onsite in Boston, MA
- 6Knowledge of manufacturing best practices and lean principles
