Overview
Lead the In-Lab regional operations as a value-adding internal consulting function ensuring operational quality and technical excellence across U.S. and Canadian sites. Direct a distributed team of 7–9 technical experts and manage performance across remote locations. Drive scalability, consistency, and continuous improvement while acting as primary liaison with quality teams and supporting audits. Shape strategic initiatives, capital projects, and capital investments to expand capacity and improve throughput. Influence sales and business development through high-level technical engagement. What You'll Do12
- 1Lead and develop a distributed team of 7–9 technical experts including Level 3 NDT specialists and engineering support staff
- 2Manage performance alignment and communication across remote geographically dispersed teams
- 3Act as primary liaison between laboratory operations and quality teams for audits and root cause analysis
- 4Drive continuous improvement initiatives identifying best practices across all lab locations
- 5Standardize technical procedures and operational workflows throughout the network
- 6Lead strategic initiatives such as lab consolidations relocations and capacity expansions
- 7Implement 5S program standards to enhance workplace organization safety and efficiency
- 8Support capital investment projects including budgeting scheduling and vendor coordination
- 9Engage with customers to translate complex technical capabilities into business value
- 10Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure accountability and performance across sites
- 11Transform reactive technical support into a proactive consultative function
- 12Contribute to business unit strategy and capability development initiatives
Requirements11
- 1Minimum 3–5 years leadership experience in Aerospace or Space sectors with Nadcap certification for NDT inspection and materials testing
- 2Proven ability to manage remote distributed teams with strong project and program management skills
- 3Background in scaling operations such as facility expansion increasing capacity and improving throughput
- 4Demonstrated experience meeting regulatory requirements in quality-driven environments like testing inspection manufacturing or industrial services
- 5Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and NADCAP compliance frameworks for materials testing
- 6Engineering degree preferred in Industrial Mechanical Electrical or related fields
- 7NDT/NDI knowledge is advantageous
- 8Strong organizational and time management abilities with prioritization skills
- 9Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presentations with customers and leadership stakeholders
- 10Ability to influence without formal authority and foster trust among senior specialists
- 11Experience supporting sales and business development through technical engagement
