Overview

Charter One seeks Teacher Assistants to support the Academy of Before & Aftercare at the American Leadership Academy-Mesa North campus. This part time role involves afternoon supervision and engagement from 2:15pm to 6:00pm. The ideal candidate will foster a safe inclusive environment while supporting academic and personal growth.

What You'll Do20

  • 3Provide homework assistance and answer questions
  • 4Maintain positive inclusive environment through respectful behavior promotion
  • 5Organize classroom spaces before and after sessions
  • 6Sanitize classroom materials and equipment after each session
  • 7Communicate with parents regarding student participation behavior and concerns
  • 8Relay parent information to site coordinator
  • 9Support project planning and special events
  • 10Track attendance records for students and staff
  • 11Document student progress and behavior incidents
  • 12Participate in staff meetings and professional development
  • 13Learn safety protocols and emergency procedures
  • 14Ensure compliance with child safety rules during activities
  • 15Apply positive reinforcement techniques to manage behavior
  • 16Facilitate conflict resolution among students
  • 17Maintain clear written and verbal communication with families
  • 18Collaborate with coordinator to implement educational activities
  • 19Adapt approaches for different age groups
  • 20Develop and execute age appropriate arts crafts and games

Requirements7

  • 1High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2Minimum 18 years old
  • 3Valid CPR/AED/First Aid certification
  • 4At least 1 year experience working with children in after school programs childcare summer camps or educational settings
  • 5Prior experience assisting teachers with lesson planning classroom management or activity design
  • 6Associate's degree preferred in early childhood education child development or related field
  • 7Strong ability to communicate effectively with children parents and team members
