After School Teacher, Elementary Education
Overview
You will own daily supervision and care for K-5 students in a Valley Forge Elementary after-school program. This part-time role (10-25 hours/week) sits within a collaborative team of After School Teachers and requires direct engagement with STEM projects, arts & crafts, and homework assistance. You will build positive, professional relationships with parents and families to foster open communication. This position stands out through its structured DHS compliance and clear growth path from Assistant Group Supervisor to Group Supervisor.
What You'll Do5
- 1Supervise groups of K-5 children during snack time, group activities, and playground time to ensure a safe, positive environment
- 2Organize and monitor age-appropriate activities including STEM projects, arts & crafts, outdoor games, and homework assistance
- 3Submit monthly lesson plans, supply lists, and newsletters on assigned due dates
- 4Communicate constantly and professionally with co-workers, parents, and children
- 5Implement positive discipline and guidance methods consistent with program policies
Requirements5
- 1Be 18+ years old
- 2Hold a High School Diploma
- 3Hold an Associate's Degree or higher in Elementary Education, Early Grades Prep, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Development, or a Human Services field (e.g., Psychology, Child Psychology, Social Work, Nursing)
- 4Prefer 2 years (2,500 hours) of documented experience working with children
- 5Pass and maintain all background and clearance checks per DHS and ACP regulations
