Overview
A Child's Place seeks a part-time, on-site Before Care Teacher to supervise and engage school-aged children in grades K-6 within the Downingtown School District. You will join a collaborative team that runs before-school programs inside elementary schools, offering arts & crafts, STEM projects, outdoor time, and homework help. Build positive relationships with parents and school staff, ensuring a safe, fun start to each day. What You'll Do9
- 1Supervise groups of students during snack time, activities, and playground time to maintain a safe, positive environment
- 2Organize and lead age-appropriate activities for school-aged children, including STEM projects and arts & crafts
- 3Submit monthly plans, supply lists, and newsletters by assigned due dates
- 4Greet parents daily to exchange information about their children
- 5Communicate with the Director on incidents, student behavior, parent feedback, and supply needs
- 6Maintain cleanliness of the classroom, program space, and playground
- 7Implement positive discipline and guidance techniques consistently
- 8Build collaborative relationships with school district employees in the building
- 9Adhere to all ACP Employee Handbook policies and attend monthly staff meetings and trainings
Requirements9
- 1Must be 18 or older
- 2High School Diploma or GED required
- 32 years (2,500 hours) of documentable experience working with children
- 4Pass and maintain all background and clearance checks, including an employee file per DHS and ACP regulations
- 5Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping
- 6Climb stairs and have mobility to ensure child safety
- 7Work outdoors in any weather condition
- 8Visual and hearing capabilities to supervise children per DHS licensing requirements
- 9Perform light duty cleaning and word processing
