Before and After School Program Coordinator
Overview
You will lead before and after school programs for grades K-5 at a West Chester elementary school, serving 25 hours per week. You will own the daily structure, supervise support staff, and plan activities that blend arts, STEM, and outdoor play. This role places you inside the school alongside a collaborative teaching team, with direct parent communication and the autonomy to shape each day. What You'll Do8
- 1Lead before and after school shifts from 6:45a-8:30a and 3:00p-6:00p, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment for K-5 students.
- 2Design and implement daily activity plans that include arts & crafts, STEM projects, outdoor time, and homework assistance.
- 3Supervise support staff and delegate tasks effectively, fostering a collaborative team culture.
- 4Build trusting relationships with parents and families through proactive, professional communication.
- 5Maintain clear behavior management using positive discipline techniques in all settings.
- 6Submit monthly activity plans, supply lists, and newsletters by required deadlines.
- 7Monitor children during snack, group activities, and playground time, adapting to the school's daily schedule.
- 8Track attendance and communicate any incidents or concerns to the program director promptly.
Requirements8
- 118+ years old with a High School Diploma required.
- 2Associate's Degree or higher in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related human services field (preferred).
- 32,500 hours (2 years) of documented experience working with school-aged children.
- 4Pass all required background checks and maintain DHS compliance for employee file.
- 5Lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical duties: bending, stretching, climbing stairs, working on the floor.
- 6Work outdoors in varied weather conditions for playground supervision.
- 7Have visual and hearing capabilities to consistently supervise children per DHS safety requirements.
- 8Perform light cleaning and basic word processing tasks.
