Overview
Abrazo Arrowhead Campus seeks a Surgical Tech to support operating room readiness and patient care at a 217-bed hospital in Phoenix. You will work with advanced medical technology and collaborate with nurses and physicians in a fast-paced environment. This role emphasizes sterile technique, instrument handling, and perioperative support while contributing to patient safety and outcomes. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain sterile technique across designated procedures with the surgical team
- 2Assist with supplies, equipment, and instrumentation coordination for each case to support efficient flow
- 3Document sponge, instrument, and needle counts and perform time-out procedures to ensure safety
- 4Coordinate with circulating nurses to monitor case progress and patient status throughout perioperative care
- 5Support recovery of lost charges and accurate charging for procedures
- 6Respond promptly to pre-operative and intra-operative patient needs and requests
- 7Utilize current surgical scrub technology and medical terminology to assist with procedures
- 8Assist in emergency procedures and scheduled cases under physician direction
- 9Maintain high standards of patient safety and care throughout the surgical workflow
- 10Adhere to department policies and participate in ongoing professional development
Requirements5
- 1High school graduate or equivalent GED
- 2Completion of formal Operating Room Technology program for new hires
- 3One year of hospital or surgical background or experience
- 4CPR certification
- 5Excellent customer service skills and basic computer skills
