Operating Room Specialty Tech, Surgical Support & Robotic Systems
Overview
Own the setup and maintenance of OR specialty equipment across multiple surgical suites at Banner Desert. You will support a fast paced, high acuity environment with da Vinci robotic systems and other advanced devices. Work closely with RNs, surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure safety, instrument availability and smooth room turnover. This role offers exposure to cutting edge surgical technology within a large academic medical center. You will join a collaborative team focused on delivering high quality, patient centered care.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain instrument and equipment readiness for procedures in collaboration with the OR team
- 2Calibrate and replace components on anesthesia and surgical carts and monitor for malfunctions
- 3Track and manage availability of equipment and instruments for cases to minimize delays
- 4Maintain inventory of anesthesia and surgical supplies in OR and anesthesia work areas
- 5Assist with patient transport pre and post operation and support room turnover
- 6Support aseptic technique and basic patient care as delegated by RN circulator
- 7Assist with basic troubleshooting of equipment and perform safety checks on devices
- 8Contribute to a safe, efficient OR environment in a fast paced setting
- 9Coordinate with surgeons and staff to ensure necessary specialized equipment is available
- 10Assist in other areas as needed to support anesthesia administration and OR readiness
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED
- 2Current BLS certification
- 3Understanding of inventory management and ability to use a computer based inventory system
- 4Strong communication, time management, problem solving and organizational skills
- 5Preferred experience with specialty instruments and equipment and knowledge of aseptic techniques
- 6Experience in an acute care setting, preferably in surgical services or specialty procedures
- 7Ability to think critically and make quick decisions in a high pressure environment
- 8Additional related education or experience preferred
- 9Must be able to support on call nights weekends and holidays
- 10On-site in Mesa, AZ with a full time schedule
