Operating Room Unit Aide, Trauma & Surgical Services
Overview
Oversee clean and organized surgical environments in a level one trauma facility at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix. You will inventory, stock, and transport supplies and equipment for the OR team, supporting patient care tasks as needed. This role operates within a fast-paced clinical setting and offers opportunities for growth and learning in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build sterile packaging and inventory management processes to ensure ready access to supplies for the clinical staff
- 2Clean, assemble, and prepare equipment and trays for procedures and ensure timely replacement in designated areas
- 3Transport patients, supplies, health records, lab specimens, and equipment as requested by the clinical staff
- 4Provide basic hands-on patient care including patient transport and ambulation
- 5Assist with room set-up, bed turnover, and preparation of special procedure carts
- 6Support department operations and greet visitors while maintaining quality records and aiding with administrative tasks
- 7Back-up support for Monitor Techs with department-specific training
- 8Monitor equipment for repairs and liaise with technology management as needed
- 9Maintain clean and safe work environment including disposal of soiled linen and trash
- 10Rotate and inventory stock to ensure sterile packaging integrity and current expiration dates
Requirements5
- 1BLS certification
- 2Approximately six months of healthcare experience
- 3Excellent organizational, communication, and human relations skills
- 4Working knowledge of medical terminology
- 5High school diploma or GED preferred
