Patient Transporter at Banner Health - BLS Certified in a Level 1 Trauma Center
Overview
Own patient transport and supply distribution within a Level 1 trauma center and academic medical center. Handle move requests, assist nurses with patient transfers, and maintain safety and infection control. Be prepared to perform chest compressions when necessary and work in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role supports patient care across multiple departments and drives service excellence.
What You'll Do9
- 1Move patients and items between departments following appropriate transfer techniques and infection control procedures
- 2Assist with patient handling and lifting using safety equipment
- 3Distribute medications and requested items between departments per procedures
- 4Respond to job calls promptly and update requests in the computer system
- 5Collect, clean, and disinfect patient care equipment and reusable items
- 6Restock supplies and perform clerical duties as needed
- 7Operate a golf cart to provide distribution services when required
- 8Transport deceased persons to the facility morgue if needed
- 9Deliver services with strong customer service to staff, physicians, patients, families and visitors
Requirements9
- 1BLS certification required
- 2Interpersonal skills for direct patient contact
- 3Ability to interpret verbal and written information and communicate effectively
- 4Basic computer, organizational, problem solving skills and ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment
- 5Valid driver’s license and eligibility for auto insurance coverage if required by facility
- 6Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at hire and maintenance of the card
- 7Arizona Criminal History Affidavit at hire
- 8Six months healthcare or customer service experience preferred
- 9Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
