Overview

You will own the school choice lottery process for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, managing magnet programs and community engagement across 180+ schools. You report to the Director of Student Planning and Outreach and coordinate with school leaders, families, and district partners. This role drives transparency in student selection and expands access to specialized programs, with direct impact on K-12 enrollment decisions.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Run the school choice lottery to ensure fair and transparent student selection for specialized programs
  • 2Build communication strategies that promote magnet program awareness and support family decision-making
  • 3Analyze enrollment trends and program data to guide expansion or modification of school choice offerings
  • 4Conduct market analyses and demographic research for facility and program planning
  • 5Lead community engagement events to gather input and strengthen relationships
  • 6Maintain accurate datasets and deliver analytics for the annual Comprehensive Data Review
  • 7Collaborate with schools to develop program documentation and interpret evaluation data
  • 8Coordinate planning meetings with stakeholders on facility impacts and long-term space needs
  • 9Complete local, state, and federal surveys and reports on time

Requirements7

  • 1Bachelor's degree in public administration, business, or education
  • 25+ years implementing K-12 educational programs or related area
  • 3Valid driver's license and access to transportation
  • 4Experience with lottery systems or student assignment processes
  • 5Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, using Excel or similar tools
  • 6Strong project management skills for cross-functional initiatives
  • 7Ability to travel to district buildings and professional meetings
