Store Clerk, Retail & Donations Processing
Overview
You will own the donation intake and sales floor presentation at a Goodwill of Central Florida retail location in Orlando, FL. You will sort, box, and label hangers by type, rotate textile stock, and assist donors and customers with a courteous, professional attitude. You will work under the General Manager, coordinating with a small team to keep the sales floor clean, safe, and fully stocked. This role stands out because you directly impact store revenue and donor satisfaction.
What You'll Do10
- 1Greet donors with a courteous, professional attitude and issue donation receipts promptly.
- 2Receive incoming donations, sort textiles by type, and label hangers accurately.
- 3Rotate stock daily to the sales floor following established procedures, and arrange merchandise on appropriate racks and shelves per merchandising policies.
- 4Assist with textile color rotation to maintain a visually appealing sales floor.
- 5Direct customers to the right areas and answer general questions with accurate information.
- 6Watch for shoplifting and notify store management of any suspicious activity immediately.
- 7Keep the sales floor and production area clean and safe, and maintain a well-groomed appearance with a name badge and vest.
- 8Escalate customer complaints to management promptly and answer the telephone using established etiquette.
- 9Follow CPSC procedures and other Public Protection Guidelines to ensure safety compliance.
- 10React calmly to emergency situations and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements9
- 1High School education or equivalent preferred.
- 21+ year of retail or customer service experience preferred.
- 3Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- 4Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
- 5Ability to see close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focus.
- 6Beginner knowledge of the Internet for looking up information.
- 7Ability to follow directions and adhere to the organization's Core Principles.
- 8Knowledge of textile articles and garment classification (gowns, shirts, pants, etc.).
- 9Ability to react calmly and respond to emergencies responsibly.
