Retail Associate, Donation Processing & Customer Service
Overview
You own the front-line retail and donation experience at one of Southern California's largest non-profits. Serving a high-volume store, you turn donated goods into revenue that funds community programs. You join a team of 20+ associates and shift leads, reporting to the Store Manager. What You'll Do8
- 1Greet every customer and donor with a professional, positive attitude, ensuring a welcoming store environment.
- 2Operate the POS system to process cash, credit, and debit transactions with accuracy.
- 3Handle donations by sorting, inspecting, and pricing items according to company standards.
- 4Merchandise the sales floor to maximize appeal and drive sales, rotating stock as needed.
- 5Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, including fitting rooms and stockrooms.
- 6Support daily production goals by meeting or exceeding sorting and pricing targets.
- 7Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet store coverage needs.
- 8Assist with store opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and security checks.
Requirements8
- 1Ability to read, speak, and write basic English for customer communication and signage.
- 21+ year of retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred.
- 3Comfortable using a POS system and basic computer applications for inventory tracking.
- 4Dependable and punctual with a track record of reliable attendance.
- 5Strong commitment to Goodwill's RISE values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence).
- 6Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for 8-hour shifts.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 8Ability to work in a team environment and follow oral and written instructions.
