Staff Product Designer, AI Legal Tech & Design Systems
Overview
Own the product experience for a new kind of law firm at scale, focusing on matter management and automation for attorneys and legal operators. Work closely with engineers and designers in a live legal environment to ship workflows that increase speed, certainty, and transparency. Shape design systems and patterns as our surface area expands, while keeping human judgment at the center.
What You'll Do7
- 1Design matter management and task-tracking workflows for attorneys, partners, and legal operators
- 2Spend time with Norm Law users to understand where work gets stuck and what needs better visibility
- 3Define what should be automated, what should be assisted, and what should stay under attorney control
- 4Prototype quickly in code, Cursor, Claude Design, or other AI-assisted tools to accelerate learning
- 5Partner with engineering and product from problem definition through shipped product
- 6Evolve the design system to maintain coherence as the product expands
- 7Collaborate to improve visibility, tracking, and automation across communications and documents
Requirements5
- 16+ years of product design experience shipping real products with strong interaction, visual, and systems craft
- 2Track record of getting close to users and turning messy context into simple product decisions
- 3Strong judgment about when to add structure, reduce friction, and preserve human control
- 4Build-first mindset with quick prototyping, early testing, and hands-on creation
- 5Intentional use of AI in your own process to move faster and think better
