Founding Designer, Legal AI & Product Design
Overview
You will own the design function end-to-end at August, shaping the product experience and brand for an AI platform targeting mid-market law firms. You will translate complex legal workflows into intuitive interfaces, working alongside founders, engineers, and legal experts. This role defines the design culture and sets the visual language across product, website, and marketing. You will have direct impact on the user experience of an AI agent that automates legal work, with 2+ years of design experience and proficiency in Figma.
What You'll Do5
- 1Lead design for product and brand, owning UI/UX, visual identity, and marketing materials.
- 2Translate complex legal AI workflows into simple, intuitive user experiences.
- 3Partner with engineers to prototype, test, and ship AI-native interfaces at speed.

Requirements5
- 12+ years of professional design experience (product, brand, or both).
- 2Strong portfolio showcasing polished product design and/or brand systems.
- 3Proficiency with modern design tools (Figma or equivalent) and comfort with rapid iteration.
- 4Ability to design elegant solutions for complex workflows.
- 5Comfortable working at an early stage company with ownership and autonomy.
Salary Insight
$135 - $200k per year
