Staff Nurse RN, SUD Detox & Behavioral Health
Overview
RN staff member will own direct nursing care within on-site detox and residential substance use treatment programs at a 20-bed facility in Mooresville NC. The role collaborates with medical providers, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient safety, stabilization, and recovery. You will contribute to regulatory readiness and positive patient outcomes in a mission-driven, Joint Commission–accredited organization. This is a per-diem on-site role with Wednesday availability requested.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and administer medications and treatments per medical protocols and education patients accordingly
- 2Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and admission documentation within established timeframes
- 3Monitor medical and psychiatric status, initiate appropriate interventions, and escalate to leadership or treatment team as needed
- 4Apply clinical judgment in crisis situations including suicide risk assessment and safety interventions
- 5Accurately transcribe and implement provider orders, including verbal orders when permitted
- 6Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members to support integrated patient care
- 7Communicate health concerns to nursing and clinical leadership and participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning
- 8Maintain timely, accurate EMR documentation in accordance with licensure accreditation and organizational standards
- 9Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA Joint Commission standards and regulatory requirements
- 10Support medication management and controlled substance processes in collaboration with Compliance and nursing leadership
Requirements9
- 1Active unrestricted RN license in North Carolina
- 2Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- 3Minimum of two years nursing experience preferred with substance use treatment and detox experience preferred
- 4Working knowledge of nursing standards of care for mental health and substance use disorders
- 5Strong clinical assessment documentation organizational and communication skills
- 6Ability to maintain professionalism objectivity and composure in high-stress or emergency situations
- 7Understanding of patient confidentiality ethical practice and regulatory compliance requirements
- 8Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
- 9Experience with electronic medical record systems preferred
