Staff Nurse LPN, Substance Use Treatment & Detox in NC
Overview
Lead direct nursing care within residential substance use treatment programs at a growing Banyan facility. You will support patient safety, medication administration, and comprehensive assessments in a 20-bed, full-continuum operation. What You'll Do10
- 1Provide direct nursing care under medical supervision in accordance with protocols
- 2Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and admission documentation within established timeframes
- 3Administer medications and provide education on treatments
- 4Assess patient medical needs, determine urgency, and initiate interventions
- 5Monitor psychiatric symptoms and safety, reporting changes to the team
- 6Apply clinical judgment in crisis situations including suicide risk assessment and de-escalation
- 7Transcribe and implement provider orders accurately, including verbal orders when permitted
- 8Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, and treatment teams to support integrated care
- 9Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and ensure regulatory compliance
- 10Support medication management and controlled substance processes with nursing leadership
Requirements9
- 1Active, unrestricted LPN license in North Carolina
- 2Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- 3Minimum of two years of nursing experience preferred, with substance use disorder and detox experience strongly preferred
- 4Working knowledge of nursing standards of care for mental health and substance use disorders
- 5Strong clinical assessment, documentation, organizational, and communication skills
- 6Ability to remain professional and composed in high-stress situations
- 7Understanding of patient confidentiality, ethics, and regulatory requirements
- 8Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- 9Experience with electronic medical record systems preferred
