Sr. System Engineer, Email Security (Proofpoint Migration)
Overview
You will own the migration of on-premises IronPort appliances to Proofpoint cloud email security for a federal agency in Washington, DC. You will design, configure, and maintain the Proofpoint environment while ensuring zero disruption to email services. What You'll Do6
- 1Lead the migration from on-premises IronPort to Proofpoint cloud, ensuring seamless email flow.
- 2Design and implement Proofpoint email security policies, including filtering, encryption, and data loss prevention.
- 3Troubleshoot and resolve email delivery and security issues during and after migration.
- 4Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Proofpoint with existing directories and authentication systems.
- 5Document the migration process, configurations, and operational procedures.
- 6Provide technical guidance to junior engineers during the transition.
Requirements5
- 15+ years engineering email security solutions, with at least 2 years on Proofpoint.
- 2Proven experience migrating from IronPort to Proofpoint in a large enterprise.
- 3Strong knowledge of SMTP, DNS, DKIM, SPF, and DMARC.
- 4Experience with Active Directory and LDAP integration for email routing.
- 5Ability to pass a federal background check and work onsite in Washington, DC.
