Senior Proofpoint Engineer, Email Security Migration
Overview
You will own the migration of email security from on-premises IronPort appliances to Proofpoint cloud, serving a large enterprise with minimal disruption. What You'll Do7
- 1Lead the migration from on-premises IronPort appliances to Proofpoint cloud, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption to email services.
- 2Design and configure Proofpoint as the enterprise email security service, including firewall rules and block/allow list maintenance.
- 3Respond to requests to quarantine, release, or manage email messages within Proofpoint.
- 4Collaborate with IT and security teams to define migration milestones and validate post-migration email flow.
- 5Document Proofpoint configurations, policies, and procedures for ongoing operations.
- 6Troubleshoot email delivery issues and tune Proofpoint policies to reduce false positives.
- 7Provide expert guidance on Proofpoint best practices and hardening for cloud email security.
Requirements7
- 15+ years of experience designing, configuring, and maintaining Proofpoint as an enterprise email security service.
- 2Expert-level experience with Proofpoint firewall rules, block lists, and allow lists.
- 3Experience leading migrations from on-premises email security appliances to cloud-based solutions, specifically from IronPort to Proofpoint.
- 4Hands-on experience responding to quarantine, release, and email management requests in Proofpoint.
- 5Strong understanding of email protocols (SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and email routing.
- 6Proven ability to work in an onsite environment in Washington, DC.
- 7Proofpoint certification (e.g., Proofpoint Certified Professional) is a plus.
