Sr Hardware Design Engineer, PCB Development & Optical Spectroscopy
Overview
Lead the design of PCBs and electro optical sensor hardware at scale for Raman spectroscopy and OCT solutions. Youll own schematic capture, simulation validation, and bring up of new boards in a collaborative, fast paced environment. Work with firmware, FPGA, and layout teams to deliver robust instruments for healthcare, security, and environmental monitoring. This role combines hands on design with cross functional reviews and regulatory testing.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain PCB schematics in Altium and generate production ready packages
- 2Design digital and mixed signal circuits and validate performance with SPICE before production
- 3Lead internal reviews across electro mechanical disciplines to resolve issues
- 4Oversee board bring up including power and timing validation and debugging
- 5Analyze signal timing and waveforms using oscilloscopes and lab instruments
- 6Collaborate with firmware and FPGA teams on pin assignment and configuration
- 7Coordinate with PCB layout engineers on component placement routing review
- 8Support regulatory testing for IEC EMC FCC Part 15 18 emissions and other standards
- 9Recommend components and connectors to meet operational product requirements
- 10Assist manufacturing with electrical issues in product assembly and customer RMAs
Requirements7
- 1At least five years experience with Altium or comparable PCB design tool
- 2Proficiency in digital and mixed signal circuit design
- 3Experience using oscilloscopes network analyzers and similar lab tools
- 4Experience with revision control systems such as Git BitBucket and Allspice
- 5Familiarity with soldering board inspection and rework
- 6Familiarity with firmware or scripting tools such as Python
- 7Good written and oral communication skills
