Overview

You own PCB design and mixed-signal validation from concept to production. Lead schematic capture, simulation, and bring-up across multiple board spins, working with a cross-functional team on electromechanical integration. This role offers direct impact on hardware reliability, with a fast iteration cycle and a clear contract-to-hire path.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Design schematics and PCB layouts in Altium, generating orderable packages for fabrication and assembly.
  • 2Run SPICE simulations and other tools to validate circuit performance before fabrication, catching issues pre-spin.
  • 3Lead multi-disciplinary reviews to resolve interference, grounding, and cabling issues with mechanical and firmware teams.
  • 4Drive board bring-up, debug power and signal integrity problems using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, and document fixes.
  • 5Own design documentation and release processes, ensuring files meet manufacturing and regulatory standards.
  • 6Collaborate with layout engineers on stack-up, impedance control, and EMI mitigation strategies.
  • 7Support prototype builds and coordinate with fabrication vendors to ensure quality and timelines.
  • 8Mentor junior engineers on design best practices and simulation techniques.

Requirements10

  • 15+ years of experience in PCB design and mixed-signal circuit development.
  • 2Expert proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic capture, layout, and library management.
  • 3Hands-on experience with SPICE (e.g., LTspice, PSpice) for transient and AC analysis.
  • 4Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits, including op-amps, ADCs, and microcontrollers.
  • 5Experience with high-speed digital design and signal integrity principles.
  • 6Hands-on lab debugging using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and soldering irons.
  • 7Familiarity with IPC standards and DFM practices for manufacturability.
  • 8Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems.
  • 9Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to hardware, software, and mechanical teams.
  • 10Willingness to work 5 days a week onsite in Morrisville, NC.
