Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Skilled Nursing
Overview
You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders at a 242-bed Skilled Nursing Facility in Henderson, NV. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and rehab professionals to help residents regain independence. The facility offers an electronic documentation system and an in-house rehab team. This role stands out for its focus on geriatric populations and collaborative, ethical care.
What You'll Do7
- 1Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
- 2Provide direct therapy services in accordance with the plan of care.
- 3Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure comprehensive resident care.
- 4Educate residents, families, and staff on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques.
- 5Document all evaluations, treatments, and resident progress in compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
- 6Participate in care planning meetings, discharge planning, and quality improvement activities.
- 7Provide training and supervision to Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (if applicable).
Requirements5
- 1Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- 2Current Nevada licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility to obtain).
- 3Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred; CFY candidates considered.
- 4Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- 5Experience in a skilled nursing facility or with geriatric populations preferred.
Salary Insight
$100 - $121k per year
