Speech Language Pathologist, K-8 Schools (NY Relocation)
Overview
You will deliver speech and language therapy to K–8 students with IEPs, many of whom are Autistic, across multiple school sites in New York City. You will join a team of 4+ in-house SLPs, work under direct mentorship from a licensed team manager, and design Social Thinking®-based programming. This role combines clinical caseload ownership with opportunities to lead graduate students and shape therapeutic approaches, backed by monthly consultation with a Social Thinking® trainer and a $250 CEU allowance. You will grow through weekly supervision, targeted workshops, and cross-functional collaboration with educators, while supporting a mission-driven school culture.
What You'll Do7
- 1Deliver individualized and small-group speech and language therapy to students with IEPs across K–8, targeting receptive and expressive language, articulation, phonological processing, fluency, voice, and social-pragmatic skills.
- 2Design and implement Social Club programming for Autistic students using Social Thinking® methodologies.
- 3Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations, screenings, and assessments to identify communication disorders, then write IEP goals and present levels of performance collaboratively.
- 4Maintain accurate, confidential records including session notes, progress reports, and compliance documentation, ensuring adherence to IDEA regulations and school policies.
- 5Provide classroom strategies and interventions to general and special education staff for at-risk students, participating in student support meetings and family consultations.
- 6Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, and specialists to deliver holistic support, contributing to weekly team meetings and supervision sessions.
- 7Take advantage of $250 CEU reimbursement and opportunities to supervise graduate-level SLP students.
Requirements8
- 1Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders.
- 2Valid state license or eligibility for licensure as an SLP; Clinical Fellows (CFs) encouraged to apply.
- 3TSSLD Certification required.
- 4Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
- 5Experience supporting school-aged students with disabilities, especially Autistic learners.
- 6Familiarity with Michelle Garcia Winner's Social Thinking® curriculum.
- 7Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- 8Bilingual proficiency preferred.
