Sourcing Manager, Formulated Products & Contract Manufacturing
Overview
Own the Formulated Products category for a fast-growing consumer brand with products on shelves at every major national retailer. You will lead sourcing strategy across cosmetics, personal care, vitamins, supplements, and consumer health, managing contract manufacturers and driving cost performance. Report directly to senior leadership with executive backing to build the function from the ground up. This role offers the chance to shape the sourcing framework and grow with an industry leader.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead sourcing strategy and execution for the formulated product category, managing CMOs and ingredient suppliers.
- 2Drive RFQ processes, supplier selection, and award decisions for new and existing products.
- 3Deliver year-over-year cost savings through supplier negotiations, should-cost modeling, and strategic consolidation.
- 4Partner with R&D, Product Development, and Quality to support NPD stage-gate milestones on time.
- 5Build and maintain supplier scorecards tracking quality, delivery, cost, and compliance performance.
- 6Own contract management for the formulated supply base, including negotiation, execution, and compliance.
- 7Identify and qualify alternate suppliers to strengthen supply chain resilience.
- 8Support regulatory compliance with FDA, cGMP, and consumer health standards.
Requirements9
- 15+ years in strategic sourcing or category management within formulated products such as cosmetics, personal care, nutraceuticals, OTC health, or dietary supplements.
- 2Direct experience managing contract manufacturers and understanding the co-manufacturing model.
- 3Strong understanding of regulatory environment governing formulated categories: FDA, cGMP, FSMA, or equivalent.
- 4Experience supporting NPD sourcing from concept through launch.
- 5Proven track record of delivering cost savings through supplier negotiation and category strategy.
- 6Experience managing supplier relationships across Asia, including China, Vietnam, and Southeast Asia, a strong plus.
- 7Financial and commercial acumen to connect sourcing decisions to margin outcomes.
- 8Strong communicator who can present to and influence senior leadership.
- 9Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Chemistry, or a related field.
