Solution Architect, AWS Microservices & Kafka
Overview
You will own the design and delivery of scalable, event-driven architectures for enterprise clients, driving technical strategy from RFP to deployment. Working onsite in San Jose, you will partner with cross-functional teams to shape cloud solutions on AWS (or Azure) with Docker and Kubernetes. You will lead high-throughput integrations using Kafka or RabbitMQ, ensuring robust data flow across PostgreSQL and MongoDB. This contract role demands deep technical leadership, where your architecture decisions directly impact business outcomes.
What You'll Do7
- 1Design and document microservices and API-first architectures for enterprise systems, ensuring scalability and resilience.
- 2Architect event-driven solutions using Kafka and RabbitMQ to handle high-throughput data pipelines.
- 3Lead container orchestration strategies with Docker and Kubernetes on AWS (EKS) or Azure (AKS).
- 4Define data models and integration patterns across SQL (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DocumentDB).
- 5Write and present RFPs and SOWs, including effort estimates and pricing models, to secure new business.
- 6Guide technical teams through the full lifecycle, from proof-of-concept to production, ensuring adherence to architectural standards.
- 7Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, bridging gaps between strategy and implementation.
Requirements6
- 115+ years in enterprise software delivery, with 5+ years designing scalable microservices and event-driven architectures.
- 2Deep expertise in AWS (preferred) or Azure, including hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS).
- 3Proficiency in high-throughput messaging with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- 4Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL or SQL Server, and NoSQL experience with MongoDB or DocumentDB.
- 5Proven track record writing RFPs and SOWs, including effort estimation and pricing models.
- 6Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
