Web Application DevOps Architect, Kubernetes & CI/CD
Overview
You will architect and deliver scalable web applications and DevOps pipelines for a San Jose-based client, owning the full stack from source control to production. Join a tight-knit team of engineers and SREs where you'll drive the technical direction and influence cloud infrastructure decisions. This contract role offers hands-on leadership in a fast-moving environment, with a focus on AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
What You'll Do7
- 1Architect and deploy AWS infrastructure with Terraform, ensuring high availability and security.
- 2Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment.
- 3Design and manage Kubernetes clusters for containerized microservices, including scaling and monitoring.
- 4Develop and optimize backend services in Node.js or Python with FastAPI, integrating Apache Kafka for event streaming.
- 5Lead incident response and root cause analysis for production systems, improving reliability and performance.
- 6Collaborate with engineering teams to establish best practices for code review, testing, and deployment.
- 7Automate infrastructure provisioning with Ansible or CloudFormation to reduce manual effort.
Requirements8
- 11+ years of experience in application development with Node.js, Java (Spring Boot), Go, or Python (FastAPI).
- 2Proficiency with Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ for message queuing and event streaming.
- 3Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization using Docker.
- 4Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, and RDS.
- 5Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- 6Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code.
- 7Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
- 8Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills for production environments.
