Overview

Own the AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) environments at a Denver-based company, with a focus on security-first infrastructure. You will build and maintain IaC pipelines with Terraform, automating everything from library publishing to application deployments and data promotions. As part of a tight DevOps team, you will collaborate with software engineers to productionize services and ensure high availability. This role stands out because it demands a strong software development mindset, not just ops experience.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Architect and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform to provision EKS clusters, VPCs, and IAM roles.
  • 2Design and implement CI/CD pipelines that automate Docker image builds, Kubernetes manifests, and release processes.
  • 3Build and automate library publishing and data promotion workflows across multiple environments.
  • 4Drive security-first practices by integrating Vault, Secrets Manager, and security scanning into every stage.
  • 5Debug and resolve production incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes.
  • 6Scale and tune Kubernetes clusters for performance and cost efficiency, leveraging Grafana and Prometheus.
  • 7Collaborate with development teams to refactor applications for cloud-native patterns and 12-factor principles.
  • 8Document infrastructure architecture and runbooks, reducing bus-factor and onboarding time.
  • 9Monitor infrastructure health and automate alerts using CloudWatch and Splunk.

Requirements9

  • 15+ years in DevOps or SRE roles with deep AWS experience (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS).
  • 2Hands-on Kubernetes (EKS) experience in production environments, including networking and storage.
  • 3Expertise in Terraform with a track record of managing complex infrastructure as code.
  • 4Strong scripting and programming skills in Python or Go to automate tooling.
  • 5Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Argo CD.
  • 6Solid understanding of Docker containerization and image optimization.
  • 7Practical knowledge of Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and alerting.
  • 8Familiarity with Vault or similar secrets management tools.
  • 9Ability to collaborate with software teams to design scalable, resilient systems.
