Software Engineer Rust Fab2
Overview
Fab2 seeks exceptional hands-on individuals to build production Rust software for semiconductor fabrication tools. This role integrates with microcontroller systems to sequence and control fabrication processes while developing modern software-defined fab capabilities.
What You'll Do6
- 1Design and implement real-time Linux applications for equipment control and process automation
- 2Design and implement finite state machines for tool operation
- 3Develop data acquisition telemetry and metrology software including computer vision
- 4Implement gRPC services and Protocol Buffer APIs
- 5Build graphical interfaces for operations diagnostics and data visualization
- 6Own major features end-to-end alongside hardware and process engineering partners
Requirements12
- 1BS in Computer Science Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 2Strong proficiency in Rust for systems-level Linux applications
- 3Hands-on Python experience in data analysis computer vision diagnostics or scientific computing
- 4Track record shipping Linux application software such as daemons services IPC and real-time systems
- 5Solid operating systems fundamentals including memory management performance and concurrency
- 6Familiarity with gRPC and protobuf or comparable RPC and serialization frameworks
- 7Experience working across different projects technical domains and engineering disciplines
- 8Background in semiconductors industrial automation manufacturing or other hardware-intensive domains
- 9Familiarity with embedded Linux Yocto or Buildroot
- 10Interest in applied math linear algebra numerical methods or scientific computing
- 11Experience with application performance profiling and optimization across CPU memory and latency
- 12Nice-to-have background in failure mode and effects analysis FMEA or similar reliability-focused design practices
