Overview
You will own the design, implementation, and testing of distributed energy resource controls and telemetry software on customer hardware at sites worldwide. You'll work with Rust, C/C++, and Go on bare-metal or hardware-level virtualization platforms, building real-time control systems that manage grid assets. You'll join a high-performance team backed by Bessemer, GV, Coatue, and NVIDIA, and collaborate with energy solutions partners on their proprietary hardware. Your work will directly enable faster, cheaper, and cleaner power for AI data centers, shaping the energy infrastructure of the future.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and implement high-performance, production-grade software for fleet telemetry and control, optimized for resource- and bandwidth-constrained environments.
- 2Build and maintain applications directly on bare-metal or hardware-level virtualization platforms using Rust, C/C++, or Go.
- 3Develop supervisory distributed energy resource control and telemetry applications with heterogeneous OEM hardware, sensor/actuator networks, and remote terminal units.
- 4Provide specifications for over-the-air (OTA) updates of on-prem software and remote access solutions for customers.
- 5Implement and enforce best security practices for critical infrastructure and cyber-physical systems.
- 6Mentor and support junior engineers in their fleet telemetry and control software development career.
- 7Collaborate closely with energy solutions providers on their proprietary hardware and on-premises software stacks.
- 8Drive the adoption of test-driven development and transparent communication within the team.
Requirements7
- 15+ years working directly on bare metal applications.
- 2Advanced programming skills with systems languages such as C/C++, Rust, or Go.
- 3Comfortable with scripting languages such as Shell or Python.
- 4Advanced knowledge of communications solutions at all layers (L1-L7) in the OSI networking model.
- 5Hands-on exposure to lightweight database engines such as SQLite, LevelDB, or similar.
- 6Familiarity with SCADA systems, industrial automation software, PLCs, microcontrollers, and finite state machines.
- 7Hardened security mindset with extensive experience in public key infrastructure, encryption, cryptography, and data privacy.
