Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Linux and EV Charging
Overview
You will design and build the core software powering a large-scale fast-charging network for electric vehicles, owning applications on an embedded Linux site controller that securely manages every device at a charging site. You will work with Golang, C, and Rust in a multi-threaded, microservice-based environment, handling billing, authorization, power distribution, and cloud communication. Your code will ensure reliability and scalability for next-generation EV charging products, with direct impact on customer experience. What You'll Do10
- 1Build high-quality, testable software using Golang, C, or Rust for embedded Linux platforms, focusing on security and reliability.
- 2Design microservice solutions that directly improve customer experience and system uptime across the charging network.
- 3Lead product bring-up, accelerating deployment through effective commissioning and serviceability improvements.
- 4Diagnose field issues, performing root cause analysis and delivering robust, maintainable fixes within tight timelines.
- 5Develop and maintain continuous integration tests, including unit, SIL, and HIL, to validate component and system behavior.
- 6Collaborate with validation teams to define integration strategies and execute comprehensive test plans.
- 7Secure device management at charging sites, integrating with payment terminals, displays, and cloud services using JSON, Protobuf, gRPC, and REST.
- 8Ship features for billing, authorization, and site-level power distribution, enabling seamless data exchange with mobile and vehicle UIs.
- 9Drive technical excellence by continuously learning embedded systems, EV charging protocols, and cloud connectivity.
- 10Support the microservice architecture and ensure high code quality while managing multiple priorities.
Requirements10
- 15+ years of professional software development with application-layer languages including Golang, C, and Rust.
- 2Strong experience developing for embedded Linux platforms, including system-level concepts and tooling.
- 3Proficiency in multi-threaded and multi-process programming, with solid understanding of concurrency and synchronization.
- 4Hands-on unit testing and test-driven development to ensure robust, maintainable code.
- 5Background in IoT platforms, including device connectivity and remote management.
- 6Experience building mission-critical applications on embedded Linux where reliability and uptime are essential.
- 7Working knowledge of communication protocols: JSON, Protobuf, gRPC, REST, HTTP, TLS, TCP, UDP, and CAN.
- 8Ability to multitask and deliver high-quality work under time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
- 9Strong collaboration skills to work across engineering and validation teams and explain technical concepts clearly.
- 10Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and modern software engineering best practices.
