What You'll Do11

  • 1Serve as the project's designated Site Safety & Health Officer
  • 2Implement and enforce the project Accident Prevention Plan
  • 3Ensure compliance with USACE EM 385-1-1 OSHA regulations
  • 4Perform daily site safety inspections and document findings
  • 5Identify hazards and work with project teams to implement corrective actions
  • 6Review and support Activity Hazard Analyses before work begins
  • 7Conduct safety meetings orientations and toolbox talks
  • 8Monitor subcontractor safety performance and high-risk construction activities
  • 9Verify employee training certifications and required safety documentation
  • 10Support incident near-miss and hazard investigations
  • 11Maintain required USACE safety records reports and documentation

Requirements8

  • 1Minimum 5 years of continuous construction safety experience supervising safety programs
  • 25 years of documented continuing safety education training
  • 3Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction training with documentation
  • 4Current First Aid CPR AED certification
  • 540-Hour HAZWOPER certification with current 8-hour refresher
  • 6EM 385-1-1 training and/or experience highly preferred
  • 7Previous USACE federal or government construction experience
  • 8Experience with wastewater water treatment civil utility or heavy construction
