Construction Safety Officer
Overview
Lead safety initiatives across multiple projects ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards. Oversee daily inspections and enforce safety protocols. Collaborate with teams to mitigate hazards and improve safety outcomes.
What You'll Do11
- 1Conduct regular safety inspections of construction jobsites and identify unsafe conditions and practices
- 2Ensure compliance with OSHA Cal/OSHA company safety policies and project-specific requirements
- 3Monitor excavation trenching fall protection and confined space safety
- 4Review and enforce safety plans including Trenching Plans and Injury and Illness Prevention Programs
- 5Document safety training and maintain records of inspections and corrective actions
- 6Investigate accidents investigate near misses and implement corrective measures
- 7Work with foremen superintendents and project managers to eliminate hazards
- 8Assist with developing safety policies and update existing procedures
- 9Verify proper use of PPE signage barricades and personal protective equipment
- 10Maintain Safety Data Sheets and hazardous material documentation
- 11Coordinate with regulatory agencies regarding safety concerns and inspections
Requirements5
- 15+ years building safety protocols using Spark Airflow
- 2Strong knowledge of OSHA Cal/OSHA regulations
- 3Experience conducting site inspections and hazard assessments
- 4Proficiency in toolbox talks and safety orientations
- 5Ability to develop and enforce comprehensive safety plans
