Site Director, Before & After School Program
Overview
Lead a school-age program at a Pittsburgh elementary site serving ages 5–12 with after school and morning care aligned to the school calendar. You will ensure regulatory compliance and provide engaging activities while managing staff and families. This role blends program leadership, operations, and strong communication to create a safe, structured, and enriching environment.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build and lead engaging STEAM, fitness, academics, arts, and homework support activities that drive student growth
- 2Oversee daily attendance, registration, and scheduling to maintain accurate records and smooth operations
- 3Design and uphold safe staff-to-child ratios and implement effective behavior management
- 4Lead regulatory and licensing compliance with PA DHS/OCDEL school-age regulations and maintain audit-ready documentation
- 5Supervise children and staff including playground oversight and risk mitigation
- 6Serve as primary liaison between families, school administration, and the Healthy Kids Programs office
- 7Maintain professional communication with families via the Playground App and other channels
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or human services plus 1 year of experience with children under 13
- 2Bachelor's Degree with 30 credit hours in relevant fields plus 2 years of experience with children under 13
- 3Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or human services plus 3 years of experience with children under 13
- 4Associate's Degree with 30 credit hours in relevant fields plus 4 years of experience with children under 13
- 5Must pass full background checks including fingerprinting and reference checks
- 6Must be medically fit including clear TB test
- 7Strong leadership and communication skills
- 8Physical ability to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs
