Overview
You will own daily warehouse and transportation operations for a team of 6-12 hourly associates at Penske's Dallas cross dock. You ensure safety compliance, meet productivity targets, and deliver damage-free shipments. Coordinate with the manager to improve processes and customer satisfaction. This role offers direct influence on operational efficiency and team performance.
What You'll Do9
- 1Assign daily work tasks to all shift associates and monitor progress.
- 2Interview hourly associates and recommend hires to the manager.
- 3Review workflows and propose changes to improve customer service and efficiency.
- 4Manage deadline pressures by prioritizing tasks and adjusting resources.
- 5Ensure customer products remain damage-free and are delivered or stored on time.
- 6Enforce financial policies for inventory accuracy, returns, and damages.
- 7Control overtime by scheduling labor to meet productivity goals.
- 8Reinforce safety awareness by leading shift safety meetings and monitoring compliance.
- 9Maintain fleet equipment by checking condition, completing documentation, and securing vehicles.
Requirements9
- 12+ years supervisory experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
- 2High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- 4Working knowledge of SAP, MRP, and JIT required.
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
- 6Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- 7Ability to use CRT, PC, scanners, calculators, and related equipment.
- 8Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
- 9Pass background check including employment, education, and criminal history, plus drug screening.
