Operations Supervisor, Warehousing & Distribution
Overview
Supervise 20+ warehouse associates in end-to-end logistics operations, owning inbound and outbound scheduling, inventory accuracy, and staffing at our Dallas facility. You will coordinate daily workflows against customer metrics and implement process improvements that drive safety and efficiency. Partner with Inventory Control and cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and hit distribution targets. This role offers hands-on supervisory experience in a family-oriented, integrity-driven logistics environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Review inbound appointment log and open order report each day to plan work activities and adjust staffing to meet customer metrics.
- 2Assign workers to specific duties based on workload and shipping schedules, and adjust staffing levels to match daily volume.
- 3Update operational procedures and communicate changes to warehouse associates, ensuring clarity and adherence.
- 4Track productivity by individual, function, and department, and use data to drive performance improvements.
- 5Coordinate with Inventory Control to maintain the highest inventory accuracy levels and resolve stock discrepancies.
- 6Manage department payroll, including timekeeping and approval of hours for 20+ employees.
- 7Advise employees on safe handling and storage methods for received, stored, and shipped items.
- 8Investigate inventory discrepancies by tracing item history and recommend corrective actions.
- 9Develop work procedures, prepare schedules, and expedite workflow to meet shipping deadlines.
- 10Resolve employee grievances and maintain a collaborative, safety-first work environment.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training.
- 21+ year supervising or coordinating warehouse operations with direct employee oversight.
- 3Proven ability to plan and schedule inbound and outbound shipments to meet customer deadlines.
- 4Experience with inventory management systems and discrepancy resolution.
- 5Strong communication skills to train and direct a team of 20+ warehouse associates.
- 6Working knowledge of OSHA safety rules and warehouse best practices.
- 7Ability to manage payroll and use scheduling software for shift planning.
- 8Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.
