Operations Supervisor, Warehouse & Distribution
Overview
You own warehouse operations at a 40+ distribution center for Owens & Minor, coordinating receiving, warehousing, and shipping. You lead a team of distribution supervisors and warehouse teammates, ensuring accuracy and safety across all shifts. This role reports to the Warehouse Manager and steps in to run the floor in their absence. You'll work directly with internal departments like Sales and Customer Service to keep operations aligned. 3+ years of warehouse experience, including supervision, prepares you for this hands-on leadership role.
What You'll Do9
- 1Assign teammates to verify incoming shipments and assemble customer orders for delivery.
- 2Plan work activities by reviewing bills of lading and customer orders with the team.
- 3Schedule drivers with the Warehouse Manager and Lead Driver to meet delivery deadlines.
- 4Supervise leads and warehouse teammates to complete all functions accurately and on time.
- 5Screen, hire, and train new warehouse teammates on OSHA safety and material handling equipment.
- 6Enforce company policies and safety regulations, including DEA and OSHA compliance.
- 7Conduct performance reviews and recommend promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions.
- 8Coordinate with Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service to synchronize warehouse activities.
- 9Analyze work problems and resolve them with the team to keep operations moving.
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or equivalent, with general math and reading skills.
- 23+ years of warehouse experience at Owens & Minor or similar environment.
- 31+ years of supervisory experience for external hires.
- 4Certified on all warehouse machinery and completed company training modules.
- 5Proficiency with Windows and ability to use operational reports.
- 6Knowledge of DEA and OSHA regulations for warehouse operations.
- 72+ years of warehouse experience preferred for external candidates.
