Service Technician, Build to Rent Multifamily Maintenance
Overview
You will own the physical assets of Build to Rent communities, managing maintenance, make-readies, and preventive programs across 1-4 properties with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing repair duties. Working under the Community Manager and Service Manager, you'll coordinate with the office team and a maintenance crew to ensure 100% resident satisfaction. You'll also handle on-call rotations and emergency response, with CPC or EPA certification support. This role stands out for its variety across multiple sites and a clear commitment to safety standards.
What You'll Do8
- 1Prioritize and schedule service requests using the maintenance system with daily input from the Community Manager and Service Manager.
- 2Repair and replace components across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and drywall to complete apartment make-readies.
- 3Monitor service request completion to limit callbacks and ensure resident satisfaction.
- 4Implement and document preventive maintenance programs following BH guidelines.
- 5Complete move-in and move-out reports with the office team and Maintenance supervisor.
- 6Tour properties daily to identify and correct hazardous conditions, reporting to the Community Manager.
- 7Share on-call duties with the maintenance team, responding within 24 hours and addressing weather hazards immediately.
- 8Assist with supply inventory and ordering, including pickup as needed.
Requirements7
- 11+ years of working knowledge in general maintenance, safety, heating, and air conditioning.
- 2Basic computer skills to operate service request systems.
- 3Knowledge of OSHA and all safety requirements, plus federal, state, and local codes.
- 4High School diploma or GED preferred.
- 5Own your industry-specific hand tools.
- 6Travel to multiple work locations, up to 95% of the time.
- 7HVAC certification or ability to obtain EPA Type II or 410A; or CPO certification or ability to obtain.
