Maintenance Technician Multifamily | Houston, TX
Overview
You will own the maintenance and repair operations for a multifamily property, ensuring quality move-ins and resident satisfaction. You'll handle plumbing, HVAC, basic electric, and carpentry tasks across the community. Working with a team under the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll keep grounds, pools, and dog parks safe and operational. This role requires EPA 608 certification and offers a chance to work directly with residents in a dynamic environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Prepare make-ready apartments by painting, repairing carpets, and performing general repairs to deliver a quality move-in experience.
- 2Respond to resident service requests with a professional attitude and complete repairs using skills in plumbing, HVAC, and basic electric.
- 3Maintain grounds, pools, hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities to keep them clean, operational, and safe for residents.
- 4Report maintenance concerns in vacant units, models, and common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- 5Perform scheduled maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor, including snow removal if applicable.
- 6Participate in on-call rotation to address after-hours emergencies promptly.
- 7Adhere to state, local, and federal fair housing laws and company safety procedures.
- 8Attend and participate in training programs as required by Cushman & Wakefield.
- 9Maintain a professional appearance and uniform standards while safeguarding company tools and equipment.
Requirements9
- 11+ years of related maintenance experience in a multifamily or similar environment.
- 2Valid driver's license and EPA 608 certification (Minimum Type II) or local city required certificate.
- 3Ability to read and understand policy manuals, safety rules, and operating instructions.
- 4Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and prepare or interpret bar graphs.
- 5Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- 6Skilled in basic math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- 7Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- 8High School Diploma, GED, or trade/technical/vocational school completion.
- 9Physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds frequently and stand/walk for extended periods.
