You will own the Property Technical Discipline for your assigned territory, handling the most complex risk assessments and consulting for high-value customers. You will drive loss control improvements, mentor consultants, and influence underwriting decisions. As a senior resource, you will train staff and business partners, staying ahead of emerging risks. What You'll Do8

  • 1Conduct risk evaluations of the highest complexity, identifying exposures and loss controls for Travelers customers.
  • 2Share findings with underwriting to support effective risk pricing and improve portfolio performance.
  • 3Educate customers on risk management improvements, using expert consulting skills to drive adoption.
  • 4Mentor Risk Control consultants and specialists, reviewing survey reports for accuracy and thoroughness.
  • 5Coach newer specialists on preparing for surveys and provide regular guidance.
  • 6Study emerging issues and track loss trends in claim data to hone expertise within the discipline.
  • 7Deliver targeted trainings to consultants, specialists, customers, and business partners on discipline-specific topics.
  • 8Perform peer reviews and cover Technical Director duties when needed, maintaining field presence.

Requirements10

  • 16+ years of risk assessment or consulting experience in property or fire protection.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline.
  • 3Valid driver's license.
  • 48+ years of experience with demonstrated expertise in property risk control is ideal.
  • 5Certification in a recognized risk control discipline such as PE or CFPS is ideal.
  • 6Strong communication skills to simplify complex technical information.
  • 7Coaching skills to mentor and motivate others.
  • 8Expert understanding of risk control's role in commercial lines insurance.
  • 9Expert interpersonal skills to build credibility and influence recommendations.
  • 10Expert organizational skills to manage priorities effectively.
