What You'll Do8
- 1Administer PostgreSQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, and MSSQL databases with 12+ years of hands-on experience.
- 2Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery strategies using Amazon RDS and Aurora.
- 3Tune database performance, including query optimization, index management, and resource allocation.
- 4Manage database migrations and upgrades across PostgreSQL and MSSQL platforms.
- 5Automate routine operational tasks with Python or Shell scripts.
- 6Collaborate with application teams to resolve database-related issues and optimize schema design.
- 7Monitor database health, implement alerting, and perform capacity planning.
- 8Document standard operating procedures and maintain runbooks.
Requirements8
- 112+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Database Engineer.
- 2Hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL in production environments.
- 3Strong administration skills in MSSQL, including SSIS and SSRS.
- 4Experience with Amazon RDS and Aurora database services.
- 5Certification in MSSQL or PostgreSQL (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or PostgreSQL Certified Associate).
- 6Proficiency in T-SQL and PL/pgSQL.
- 7Experience with performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security best practices.
- 8Familiarity with Linux operating systems and Shell scripting.
