Overview
Senior Database Administrator owning performance, reliability, and scalability for enterprise database systems. Manage and optimize PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle in hybrid infrastructure. Lead automation through Configuration as Code and modern CI/CD pipelines. Partner with engineering teams on schema design and data workflows, ensuring critical data systems meet demanding service levels.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and implement high-availability database architectures across PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle.
- 2Automate database provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- 3Monitor and tune query performance, indexing, and partitioning for sub-100ms response times.
- 4Lead failover and disaster recovery drills to guarantee <5 minute RTO.
- 5Mentor three DBAs on best practices for backup, recovery, and security.
- 6Collaborate with developers on schema design and SQL optimization for new features.
- 7Implement data retention and archival strategies using AWS S3 and Glacier.
- 8Drive adoption of Configuration as Code to eliminate manual server configuration.
Requirements8
- 18-10 years hands-on DBA experience in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- 25+ years scripting with Python or Bash for automation.
- 33+ years managing databases in AWS or Azure cloud environments.
- 4Strong expertise in Performance Tuning and Indexing Strategies.
- 5Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or Jenkins.
- 6Deep knowledge of Backup and Recovery techniques.
- 7Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- 8Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
