Senior Construction Project Manager, Commercial GC Boston
Overview
You will own complex commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, managing 10+ concurrent projects with budgets up to $50M. Working with a well-established general contractor in the New England area, you'll report to the Project Executive and lead project teams of 5-10. You'll drive financial performance, scheduling, and client satisfaction while mentoring staff and fostering a collaborative culture. This role stands out for its focus on tenant-occupied renovations and ground-up builds across retail, restaurant, and corporate sectors.
What You'll Do10
- 1Review plans and specs, identify design deficiencies, and lead preconstruction meetings with stakeholders.
- 2Create and maintain the Critical Path Schedule using Microsoft Project.
- 3Negotiate subcontractor agreements and procure owner-furnished materials and permits.
- 4Manage daily project execution with the Superintendent to meet schedule, quality, safety, and budget targets.
- 5Lead weekly project meetings and distribute minutes, tracking action items to completion.
- 6Prepare RFPs, select subcontractors, and manage buyout for assigned packages.
- 7Serve as primary client contact, building long-term relationships and identifying risks early.
- 8Monitor budgets, forecasts, and job costing in Procore and ERP systems, processing change orders and payment applications.
- 9Coordinate inspections, quality control, and punch list completion to achieve on-time closeout.
- 10Mentor project staff and promote a culture of accountability and professionalism.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 210+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
- 3Proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- 4Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, job costing, and cost control.
- 5Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Procore (preferred).
- 6Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- 7Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- 8Client-focused mindset with commitment to delivering quality results.
Salary Insight
