Security Systems Service Technician, CCTV & Access Control
Overview
You will own maintenance and repair for security alarms, access control, and CCTV systems across client sites. You will report to the Service Manager and join the Operations team, traveling daily to resolve downtime. This role demands sharp diagnostic skills and clear client communication. You will close 9 out of 10 service calls on the first visit, reducing repeat visits. 5+ years of field experience and a valid driver's license set you apart.
What You'll Do10
- 1Diagnose and repair security alarms, access control, and CCTV failures at client locations, restoring uptime within 4 hours.
- 2Read and interpret schematics, floorplans, and layouts to trace wiring and locate faults.
- 3Run low-voltage cabling and terminate wires for security and fire alarm panels, CCTV cameras, and access control devices.
- 4Test batteries, wiring, and system components, then adjust or replace faulty parts to meet electrical and fire codes.
- 5Mount control panels, cameras, and access control hardware, including drilling and feeding cables through walls and ceilings.
- 6Build and wire network racks for security equipment, ensuring neat cable management and signal integrity.
- 7Demonstrate system operation to clients and provide clear instructions for daily use.
- 8Document all service work and compile detailed reports for the service manager.
- 9Maintain inventory by ordering necessary security parts and supplies, keeping the service van stocked.
- 10Attend training sessions to stay current on new security products and installation techniques.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical school training preferred.
- 22+ years of related experience in security or fire alarm systems.
- 3Extensive knowledge of security and fire alarm systems and installation.
- 4Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites daily.
- 5US Citizen or Permanent Resident with proof of work eligibility.
- 6Comfortable passing a background check and drug screen.
- 7Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction.
- 8Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software for reports.
- 9Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex wiring and system issues.
- 10Physically fit to stand, kneel, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 35 pounds.
