Security Installation Technician III
Overview
You will lead commercial security system installations for enterprise clients across Austin, Texas. With 2-3 years in physical security, you will supervise teams of technicians I and II, manage multiple medium-to-large jobs, and ensure each system meets contract requirements. You will work onsite with a company vehicle, traveling to client sites daily. Your expertise in CCTV, access control, and low voltage systems sets you apart, and you will train end-users on system operation at delivery.
What You'll Do8
- 1Drive to client sites in a company vehicle to install and verify security systems meet contract specifications
- 2Install and configure CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems, including wiring, panels, and devices
- 3Program and configure commercial electronic security systems using platforms like Software House, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Brivo, Milestone, Exacq, Axis, Bosch, Commend, DMP, Open Options, Notifier, Fluidmesh, or ONSSI
- 4Troubleshoot new installations to ensure systems function correctly and comply with local codes
- 5Lead and supervise installation teams of Technician I and II, ensuring quality and adherence to schedule
- 6Manage multiple medium-to-large projects simultaneously within approved hours and margin tolerances
- 7Load servers with third-party applications and deploy IP video solutions
- 8Provide product familiarization training to end-users, ensuring effective system adoption
Requirements10
- 12-3 years experience in the physical security, fire alarm, or low voltage communication industry
- 2High school diploma or equivalent
- 3Experience with Software House, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Brivo, Milestone, Exacq, Axis, Bosch, Commend, DMP, Open Options, Notifier, Fluidmesh, or ONSSI preferred
- 4Ability to obtain proper state licensing (e.g., Low Voltage D license, Alarm Installer Lic.)
- 5Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
- 6Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations in last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than 1 minor moving violation in last 24 months)
- 7Ability to complete time entry daily via internet from home
- 8Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
- 9General working knowledge of network architecture
- 10Willingness to travel overnight as needed
