Security Systems Installer Team Lead
Overview
You lead security system installation projects at customer sites across Washington, DC, delivering Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV solutions. You coordinate a crew of installers, handle on-site troubleshooting, and ensure every job meets contract and code requirements. You report to dispatch and project managers, working with union labor and local authorities to complete installations safely and on time. What You'll Do9
- 1Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV at customer sites.
- 2Lead installation teams on large projects, directing daily activities and checking work quality.
- 3Coach and mentor installers, sharing best practices for DMP, Honeywell, Kantech, and Lenel systems.
- 4Read blueprints, schematics, and manuals to plan installations and route low-voltage circuits.
- 5Supervise and inspect installations to meet customer specs and contract terms.
- 6Coordinate with dispatch, customers, and public safety for permits and code compliance.
- 7Repair panels, replace devices, and fix low-voltage issues on Access Control and CCTV systems.
- 8Document work status, productivity, and job reports daily.
- 9Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and commissioning devices safely.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED.
- 25+ years commercial installer experience in low-voltage electrical systems.
- 3Hands-on experience with Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV.
- 4Certifications in DMP, Honeywell, Kantech, Lenel, or C Cure.
- 5Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- 6Use multimeters, power tools, and commissioning devices.
- 7Lead or mentor other installers on active projects.
- 8Work flexible hours, weekends, and travel overnight.
- 9Lift 50-70 lbs and work at heights or in tight spaces.
- 10Commit to safety and follow site procedures and code requirements.
