Security System Installation Technician, CCTV & Access Control
Overview
You will install, support, and maintain commercial security technologies including CCTV, IP Camera Systems, Access Control Systems, card readers, door contacts, magnetic locks, electric strikes, and push-to-exit devices. You will work with a team of technicians on commercial projects, pulling low-voltage cabling and wiring door hardware. This role is fully onsite in Rock Hill, SC, with a contract-to-hire structure. You will gain hands-on experience with a variety of physical security systems.
What You'll Do10
- 1Install CCTV and IP cameras at commercial sites, including mounting, aiming, and configuring devices.
- 2Pull and route low-voltage cabling for access control and CCTV systems, following project drawings.
- 3Wire access control equipment, including card readers, magnetic locks, and electric strikes.
- 4Terminate cabling and security devices, ensuring clean connections and proper labeling.
- 5Read project drawings and device layouts to determine installation paths and equipment placement.
- 6Troubleshoot low-voltage systems during installation to ensure proper functionality.
- 7Maintain quality and safety standards on every job site, following OSHA guidelines.
- 8Support project completion schedules by meeting daily installation targets.
- 9Collaborate with team members to complete complex installations efficiently.
- 10Document work performed and report progress to the project supervisor.
Requirements10
- 11+ year of low-voltage, structured cabling, or security installation experience.
- 2Hands-on experience with cameras and/or access control systems preferred.
- 3Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- 4Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.
- 5Ability to work on ladders and lifts.
- 6Ability to work in commercial construction environments.
- 7Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- 8Professional communication skills.
- 9Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- 10Preferred: Experience installing cameras and access control systems, door hardware, mag locks, strikes, and readers; OSHA or BICSI certification.
