Security Installation Technician, CCTV & Access Control in Data Center
Overview
Own the installation and testing of low-voltage security systems in a data center. Lead and assist with wiring, testing, and documentation for CCTV and access control components at scale. Collaborate with a lead technician and supervisor on projects while ensuring safety and quality standards. This role offers hands-on field experience with modern security infrastructure and opportunities for growth through certifications.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and install access control and security camera components including readers, maglocks, door strikes, and controllers
- 2Pull and terminate low-voltage cables such as CAT5/6 with RJ45 terminations ensuring reliable connections
- 3Label devices and cables and mount hardware per project standards
- 4Assist with system testing and verification under supervision
- 5Document daily work, materials used, and site conditions clearly
- 6Follow safety standards and maintain a clean organized work environment
- 7Communicate progress and issues to the lead technician or supervisor
- 8Interpret wiring diagrams and installation instructions to complete tasks accurately
- 9Support conduit and general construction tasks related to low-voltage installations
- 10Maintain professional conduct and high attention to detail in data center environments
Requirements10
- 12–3 years of experience in low-voltage, electrical, access control, and CCTV/security camera installation
- 2Hands-on experience installing cameras and access control devices such as readers, maglocks, door strikes, and controllers
- 3Proficiency pulling and terminating CAT5/6 cables including RJ45 terminations
- 4Understanding of wiring practices, power supplies, and low-voltage systems
- 5Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and instructions
- 6Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail in installation work
- 7Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- 8OSHA 10 certification required at start; OSHA 30 within 90 days of hire
- 9Ability to pass background check and drug test
- 10Experience with data center or critical environment security systems is a plus
